Week 4- Starting to pay off

So, this week, people are starting to see the difference, which makes me feel good. I am also almost back to what I was when I left London/moved to Barranquilla. At that point in my life, I felt amazing, and those feelings are coming back. I have a waist again, and although I need to work on the strength training (cardio is just so much more enjoyable), I feel better overall. The scale is still around 165lbs, but I don't feel so big and heavy. I have lost between 1/2" and 2" around different parts of my body (my stomach being the most, which seems to be in large part to the limited wheat and dairy). Now I need to continue everything (with a few cheats here and there). This week is a higher protein week (also more variety of proteins).

I should also confess that I haven't completely been doing this alone, I have been going to a clinic, that has been helping me. One of the things that we (in my family) need is motivation. Although I am motivated to lose weight, temptations are hard to resist, and by going to a clinic and paying money for it, I am more motivated to stick to the plan, since I have something on the line. It was needed initially, and I am continuing for a second month, to better train myself (and make sure that I am invested in staying this way). When I first started this journey, I wasn't ready to tell people that I was seeking help, since losing weight, in theory is something that you should be able to do on your own, but now, I am not afraid to admit that I need help, and someone else to hold me accountable. I have not succeeded in the 8 years that I have tried on my own (I was successful the first time with Weight Watchers), so, now it's time for help.

One of the questions asked was whether I feel more tired or not. Well, given that I have been living in near zombie state for much of this year (my sleep patterns and work schedule are not well suited), I can't say that I am more tired. I am still a "coffee occasionally on the weekends" kind of person, and by the end of my work day, I am tired. The most tired I have been on this diet actually came after getting the stomach bug that everyone has been getting (I have had at least 5 students out for almost a week). Yes, the beginning was difficult, and the detox for the first 3 days was the hardest, where I felt hungry all the time, but overall, I am good with my meals and snacks, and I think my portion sizes have decreased a bit. I can pretty much have as many fruits and veggies as I like, so they have become my snacks. Junk food and fried foods have decreased too, which is always a good thing. (Aside from this weekend). As for overall energy level, I think it is slightly increased, just because I don't feel so sluggish.

I didn't get to the gym much this past week, and I am having some issues with the "contract" at the gym (being that in the past, I have always just paid every 3 months, no issues, and now they are saying that they can't find my information etc). I only need 1 more month! Can't I just pay it?? I also had a few days where I didn't get close enough to my 10000 + steps, and was feeling a bit antsy.
